Dresden Airport and Students from FSG Present German-Czech Book of Fairytales in Dresden

Since the beginning of this year, there has been a partnership between Dresden International Airport and FSG. The first common project is the book ‘Fairytales on the go’ (Pohádky na cesty). The students freely retold fairytales or thought up new ones, translated them into the other language and illustrated them themselves. In order for the fairytles to be able to ‘go’, the texts were recorded and enhanced with sounds in a recording studio of the Saxon SAEK Educational Media Center in Dresden.

The senior students presented the German-Czech book ‘Fairytales on the go’ (Märchen für unterwegs – Pohádky na cesty“) to the audience. Before that, consul general Tomáš Podivínský, principal Bernd Wenzel and airport representative Petra Siebert had already expressed their appreciation for the printed product. 500 copies of the booklet were printed containing the creativity of 33 students. Small-sized, red, full of illustrations and not being for sale, this booklet is supposed to make traveling from Dresden’s airport more enjoyable and entertaining. “Taking the rush out of flying”, as principal Wenzel described the desired effect. It will also be used as a textbook for the younger students at Schillergymnasium and will therefore fulfill its original purpose.
