Visit of the Consul General of the Czech Republic
On 25 February 2015, Dr. Jiří Kuděla the Czech Consul General and other guests visited Friedrich Schiller Gymnasium. He greeted the students who are taking part in the upcoming journey to Prague, which has not only been a long tradition for years but has always been organized by the Czech Consulate General in Dresden for the best students in our bilingual profile.

After a presentation about our Czech-German bilingual project by Principal Mr. Wenzel, views and ideas were exchanged between the Consul General and the students. After that, Consul Ms. Reinöhlová presented a few highlights of the journey’s itinary.
Prof. Verny from Berlin, another guest and a former boarder himself, drew the students’ attention to the work of the Verny Foundation, which devotes particular attention to young people with a special talent in literature and which also supports creative German-Czech literature projects.

In this context, Ms. Pazderová presented some award winning literature projects jointly implemented by our German and Czech students such as “ Fairytales on the Go”, “Encounters” or “The colors of the Year”. At the end of the talk, the Czech Consul General said that he would like to come back for a visit.
